Vacuum plating - High gloss paint
Vacuum plating - High gloss paint
Applicable to Metals,Plastics
Description

Vacuum plating mainly includes vacuum evaporation, sputtering and ion plating. They are all used to deposit various metal and non-metal films on the surface of plastic parts through distillation or sputtering under vacuum conditions. It can get very thin surface coating. Detail sanding would proceed for these parts in order to achieve the best surface effect after plating.Features: fast speed and good adhesion.
Application: functional coatings for higher-end products, household appliances, and cosmetic packaging.

The Justway Vacuum plating (PVD) process

Vacuum plating (PVD) at Justway creates a durable, high-gloss, and metallic finish on plastic or metal parts by vaporizing coating materials in a vacuum chamber. The process involves applying a primer, depositing metal (like aluminum) via vacuum, and sealing with a clear, colored topcoat for a reflective, high-end look.
Key Aspects of the Process:

  • Process Steps: Components undergo sanding, cleaning, and base coating before being placed in a vacuum chamber. Metal is vaporized (often aluminum wire) at ≈ 0.01 Pa, allowing it to condense onto the part.
  • High Gloss Finish: To achieve a high-gloss finish, a specialized, glossy topcoat is applied and cured.Applications: Ideal for decorative, high-end, or reflective surfaces in industries like automotive, household appliances, and cosmetics.
  • Advantages: Offers superior adhesion, high reflectivity, and environmental friendliness compared to traditional plating.
Justway provides rapid prototyping services, utilizing this method to achieve high-quality surface finishes suitable for design validation and small-batch production.
