Powder coating with a matte process is a dry, eco-friendly finishing technique that applies electrostatically charged, low-gloss powder to metal, followed by oven curing at ~200°C.This creates a durable, non-reflective, and corrosion-resistant surface. The matte effect is achieved by specialized powders or additives that reduce light reflection, resulting in a smooth, modern, non-glossy appearance.
Key Aspects of the Powder Coat & Matt Process:

Pre-treatment: Components must be cleaned, degreased, and sometimes phosphated to ensure proper powder adhesion.
Application: A spray gun applies electrostatically charged matte powder, ensuring even, thin coverage.
Matte Finish Mechanism: The matte appearance is created by adding matting agents to the resin and pigment mixture, which causes the surface to have a lower gloss level (usually under 30% gloss).
Curing: The coated part is baked in an oven 350°F to 450°F, melting the powder and cross-linking it into a tough, durable layer.
