Material shortcomings
- Low heat resistance: HDT is only 53 °C @ 0.455 MPa, so it is unsuitable for high-temperature applications.
- Moderate mechanical strength: tensile strength (28 MPa) and flexural strength (38 MPa) are relatively low compared with engineering-grade materials.
- Higher viscosity: at 1250 cps @ 30 °C, it is more viscous than many other SLA resins and may require careful handling.
- Limited application scope: best suited to non-structural, aesthetic, or flame-retardant parts rather than load-bearing applications.

Recommended description
FR42 is a flame-retardant, halogen-free UV-curable resin for SLA 3D printing, certified to UL-94 V0 at 2.5 mm thickness. It combines excellent toughness (35% elongation at break), superior accuracy, and good surface quality. It is especially recommended for applications requiring flame retardancy, such as in the home appliance, electronics, and transportation industries. As the first flame-retardant material available for large-format SLA printing, it is ideal for producing large, safe, and detailed parts.
