Formlabs PA12
Material type: Plastic, high precision, thermoplastic
Formlabs Nylon 12 Powder is a versatile, industry-standard SLS 3D printing material. It combines high tensile strength with environmental stability, enabling the production of detailed, complex assemblies and durable parts that absorb very little moisture.

Black (dyed)
Material advantages
Thanks to its high tensile strength, ductility, and environmental stability, Nylon 12 Powder is well suited to complex assemblies and durable parts with minimal water absorption.
Material shortcomings
Thin features are prone to brittleness — geometries such as 1–2 mm wall thickness are more fragile and may break during post-processing or if dropped. Ductility is also relatively low, with elongation at break (X/Y) of about 11%, making it less flexible than materials such as PA11.
Recommended description
Formlabs PA12 is a general-purpose nylon powder for SLS printing that balances strength, detail, and heat resistance. It is a good fit for functional prototypes and durable end-use parts, particularly where low moisture absorption matters.
