What are the minimum embossed and engraved details for FDM printing?

Standard 0.4mm nozzle (most common):

  • Embossed (raised): min. 0.8mm width / 0.5mm height
  • Engraved (recessed): min. 0.8mm width / 0.5mm depth
  • High-precision 0.2mm nozzle:
  • Min. 0.5mm width / 0.4mm height/depth for fine details
  • Larger 0.6/0.8mm nozzles (fast printing): min. 1.0mm

Smaller details risk blurring or incomplete formation.
